Paxton Osgood and Willa Jackson come from two different social strata in the little town of Walls of Water, North Carolina. The Osgoods are well-to-do; the Jacksons have come down in the world.
Yet, they are both connected to a mansion called the Blue Ridge Madam, which the Osgoods are restoring to be a bed-and-breakfast. When a skeleton is found during the restoration, both women start looking into family secrets.
The book gripped me a lot more than I thought it would, to be honest. It wasn't so much about the mystery surrounding the skeletal remains, but about the nature of love and friendship. I enjoyed it a great deal and would recommend it to literature fiction fans.
