I picked up this book after a friend recommended I work with Rev. Nancy Schluntz in the wake of a pet's unexpected death. I wanted to know more about Rev. Nancy's work.
This memoir talks about her path toward animal chaplaincy and animal communication, and shares Rev. Nancy's special animal friends with us. As one who believes that animals can communicate with us, I did not find it at all "woo-woo" and, in fact, derived tremendous comfort from what I read.
The field of animal chaplaincy is relatively new, but I am glad that it exists. Acknowledging the sacred bond between humans and animals is important ... as is allowing for space to grieve when a special animal friend is lost.
This gentle book was much appreciated during a difficult time.
