Carrier-of-Bones - John Francois Jean-Claude and Louis are two Cajun boys who agree to return from what is now Louisiana to Acadie (Nova Scotia) to re-inter Jean's mother and baby brother's remains, during the late 1760s.Along the way, they meet up with numerous trappers and military folk during their journey up the Ohio Valley. They are eventually adopted into the Seneca tribe of Iroquois -- which puts them in a rather unique position during the French and Indian wars that predated the American Revolution.John Francois brings us right into this world with well-rounded characters and stunningly described locations. It's quite evident that Francois has done extensive research not only on events and places, but also on all of the cultures discussed in the tale.Highly recommend.Congratulations to the author on being a finalist in the Global eBook Awards.
