My mother recently sent me a number of books from my childhood, and I am having a splendid time going through them. This book is a great way to get children started on the French language. Using phonetic pronunciations along with French spelling and English translations, and simple-but-lovely watercolor illustrations, kids can follow along with the familiar stories of Red Riding Hood, and the Three Bears, and learn basic French vocabulary at the same time. My husband also found the book useful for learning simple phrases that will be of use during our upcoming vacation.
