Strays of Rio

Strays of Rio - Edith Parzefall "Strays of Rio" is part thriller, part social commentary.American expatriate Lisa Kerry owns a book store in Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana district. She hires some of the street kids from town to help her around the place, and soon has them living in a little shed on her property. The street kids are not popular around town; in fact, groups calling themselves "pest control" go out and hunt them for sport.Lisa runs afoul not only of the pest control gangs, but also the drug lords in town over the course of the book.Edith Parzefall sheds light on the plight of Rio's street kids while putting readers through a grueling series of plot twists and turns. The book never failed to keep my interest. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.
