I didn't want to put this book down. Lawrence and Nancy Goldstone take us right along with them on an accidental book collecting journey that starts with a birthday present wager over who can get the best gift for less than $20. Nancy wins with a $10 rare edition of "War and Peace" ... and a new hobby is found. The Goldstones meet some fascinating characters along the way, some of whom sell rare books out of barns and some of whom are so snooty that they won't allow the Goldstones to look at the books at all. Others become good friends who teach them about book collecting.Part memoir and part treasure hunt, this little book was a real pleasure to read. Highly recommended for bibliophiles.
