I picked up this book from the Ballet San Jose gift shop after skimming through it. The photographs of both desserts and ballet are stunning.Now that I've read through it, I'm even more impressed. Sandwiched in between recipes (which range from easy ones like chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches to complicated ones like "Chocolate Mousse King") is the original story of the Nutcracker, from E.T.A. Hoffman's tale. We also get some lessons about life in the ballet, as the author is a former dancer.I cannot wait to try some of the dishes listed in this book.Warning: a good many of the recipes contain nuts, which is of a concern to some for health reasons.
